"HAVE NO FEAR"- Jesus..not Kennedy
This is such a bold passage that Jesus spoke. You can hear the strength in these words as you read them.
Matthew 10:26-33 "So have no fear of them, for nothing is covered that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. What I tell you in the dark, say in the light, and what you hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops. And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven, but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven."
What do you fear today? Is it the unknown future? Is it that someone will find out what you are doing that you shouldn't be doing? Do you fear a medical procedure coming up or a difficult conversation that you know you need to have? Do you fear finances or the lack thereof?
Remember, these words came from the very mouth of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior and they are just as true today as they were 2000 years ago. If you are holding a bird and drop it, God won't allow it to hit the ground and God cares more for you than the bird. He will not allow you to hit the ground. The fear that you have today, isn't yours to hold in your hand, it's the Lords. Give it to Him.
When you give your fears to the Lord, you are actually giving Him a gift. Why do I say that? Good question! It's a gift to the Lord (not a burden) because you are demonstrating to the Lord that you trust Him and recognize that this fear doesn't belong to you so you are giving it away to Him. He is the only one who can rightly deal with it. Many times when we give things to the Lord we feel as if we are adding more things to His plate and that is just not the case. We are actually lightning both His load and ours because it is His desire that we walk in freedom.
Fear will push you into doing things in secret...don't! Have the freedom in Christ that He died for. Be open and honest with yourself and the Lord today. Give Him your fears and allow Him to do His job...that is...to be Lord over ALL in your life. When you give everything to the Lord, you are acknowledging Him as Lord of your life to ALL....and in turn Jesus will tell everyone on His Christmas Card list about you too-
