Bow Now or Bow Later....choice is yours
Philippians 2:10-11 "...so at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
I want to think about this last phrase first. "To the glory of God the Father." This phrase is huge and is key. Everything preceding this phrase is for this phrase. That means that this phrase is the motivation behind everything else. As a single adult, do you find this true in your own life? If you were to live "to the glory of God the Father" today, what would that look like? If your relationships were "to the glory of God the Father," what would they look like? If your finances were "to the glory of God the Father," what would they look like?"
Yes, at the name of Jesus every knee should bow but they don't but one day they will. One day everyone will recognize that Jesus Christ is the Messiah and there will be a day when everyone who has ever lived will have to acknowledge this fact.
But there is an ultimate recognition of this Lordship of Christ and there is a daily recognition of the Lordship of Christ. As followers of Jesus Christ, it is not enough to only have Christ as Lord of your life at the time of your conversion. That is actually recognizing Jesus Christ as Savior. He is both Savior and as this passage reminds us...Lord. We have to MAKE HIM LORD OF OUR LIFE!
That is something that can only be done when that little phrase is front and center in our minds and in our hearts....to the glory of God the Father. When I am focussed on the glory of God the Father, Jesus Christ is Lord of my life, Lord of my decisions, Lord of my day and Lord of my future.
