Persevere! You can do it!
James 1:12 "Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him."
Again, there is a different between a trial and a temptation. Remember...trials are those things which God allows us to go through which are purposed to draw us closer to God. Temptations are from satan and are intended to draw us away from God. Sometimes people confuse a trial and a difficult situation that is a result of giving into temptation. They may feel the same on many levels but the root and the source are very very different as James goes on to discuss in the following verses.
When you are going through a trial...stay strong and know that God is very very near to you. There is a reason but knowing the reason isn't the purpose. Pressing into Jesus and chasing after Him during the trail is the purpose. The trial has everything to do with your faith increasing and trust in Jesus growing.
I'm reminded of 1 Peter....the entire book. The Christians were persecuted, dispersed to foreign lands and had to start over in a new culture. This wasn't due to giving in to temptation. They didn't do "anything wrong" but were going through a horrendous time. The entire book is written to remind them of the HOPE that we have in Christ now and in the future. This was a trial and many were found faithful and learned to live a life of obedience to the Lord so that when people asked why they lived as they did they were ready and willing to give the reason for the hope they had within!
If you are going through a difficult season, is it a trial or is it a result of giving into temptation? If it is a result of temptation, confess your sins as God is always faithful and just to forgive your sin and bring complete cleansing. If it is a trial, press in, widen your stance, ready yourself, look up, and reach out. God's Got This!
You are loved and one of the beloved- there is so much HOPE!
