"James 1:12 Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him."
This is an important verse for all of us. It's also important to clearly read what it is saying and therefore what it is not saying. It is saying that you will be blessed when you stay faithful under a trial....not temptation. We don't stay "under temptation." No, we flee temptation (1Corinthians 10:13). Temptations and trials are 2 different things.
God allows us to go through trials because, as James previously writes, the testing of our faith produces patience and patience the perfect will of God. Temptation comes from satan and he is trying to pervert truth and draw us away from knowing God's perfect will.
Does God rescue us and does God still have a plan for us when we find ourselves in a trial as a result of our sin? Yes! When we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness!
When you are going through a trial or what feels like a trial, ask yourself, "Am I going through this because I made a poor decision or am I going through this because God is at work in my life?" Don't blame God for your bad decisions. Be honest with yourself and be honest with God. But always know, God is bigger, God is forgiving, and God has a plan...even when we
