Isaiah 64:4 "From of old no one has heard or received by the ear, no eye has seen a God besides you, who acts for those WHO WAIT ON HIM"
I am here to encourage you, the reader. I have been able to encourage over 2,700 readers with these short devotionals but today's is personal. Today's verse, I believe, is one that God illumined me to at the perfect time. My soul has been wrestling with many things yet there hasn't been any clarity other than, "God...I know you are calling me to wait and to trust you."
I was in a meeting just yesterday and I asked the person that I oversee/ supervise/ love unconditionally/ encourage/ whatever word that you want to use/ what he was reading in his devotional life, what his greatest felt need was and if his devotional reading was bringing any clarity to his greatest felt need. He said that he was really focussing on "Being still."
This morning, as I sat to type, I looked at my verse for today and my jaw dropped. I chose the verses that I would write devotions on in January. How did God know that I would have an unsettling in the very core of my soul and providentially put specific conversations and verses all around me exactly when I needed them most? How does He do what He does? I just can't get my head around the beautiful majesty and glory of God. His caring nature for the underserving like me. His provision for those who waste like me. His forgiveness for those who are chief among sinners, like me. His purpose, far greater than any individual, revealed to someone like me. Why and How? I know the answer for why... "It's for His glory"...but How...that trips me out.
I believe God has shown up today in a gentle, yet significant reminder. God's got this....He will act...for those who wait on him..so I need to wait on Him.
Who are you waiting on? Are you waiting on God as if he is the supermarket checker and you are just wishing He would finish scanning the items of the person in front of you so He could get to your items, scan you out, and you could be on your way? Or are you patiently waiting on God, gazing up at Him, praying in humility and reverence, and anticipating Him to answer your prayer?
Guys, God is Amazing and He knows who you are and where you are. Trust Him in the waiting! He will act---You will be amazed!
